Welcome to the new website (2024 edition)!
It took me like 9 months to finish this new version but here we are.
Preface
Welp, it’s been a while, isn’t it? Would you believe me if I told you that this version of the website has been in the oven for like 9 months…? Well, that’s what happened anyway. I am glad to finally be writing a blog post for this new version of the website. I hope you like the new design I am going for!
Sooo… What’s new?
Some of the new features include:
- Actually caring about mobile navigations
- A new look and feel… (it now feels extremely corporate)
- Artworks is now not just an NGINX index page
- Proper OpenGraph support (soon-ish)
- Game Records! (When I get to play some arcade games)
- Updated links!
Weren’t you going to use Strapi?
Well, I find Strapi very slow and not really my thing. To be honest, I think it can work for a bigger workload but a whole CMS is just too overkill for me. I’d rather be doing things manually. All of the things you see here have not been connected to the backend at all (except for potentially the Guestbook).
What’s here?
This website was originally planned to be in Next.js but I ended up with Svelte by the poisoning by Ushie. I personally don’t hate it but don’t really see myself using this in bigger projects just because some of its weird quirks and everything I had to do to get this running at all. It’s good if you’re starting out, don’t get me wrong, but for websites with millions of interactivity. I’d just stick with something more popular to save myself some headache.
What’s next?
Hopefully, I finish the rest of the website soon. I have quite a few things left to implement like Guestbook, Game Records, and importing the rest of Strapi content back into this. I also need to fix the OpenGraph support and make the website more accessible. I will definitely have fun…
